Pedestrian Struck, Killed on State Route 108 in East Sonora
SONORA, Calif. (Dec. 8, 2023) — A fatal pedestrian accident happened Friday morning on State Route Highway 108 at the Hess Avenue off ramp in East Sonora.
The deadly crash occurred at around 12 a.m. on Dec. 8th, according to the California Highway Patrol. A driver in a gray Ford Expedition reportedly struck the victim in the roadway due to unknown circumstances.
Also, a second driver in a maroon Toyota Highlander SUV stopped to help and called 911 after possibly witnessing the crash or seeing the pedestrian laying in the roadway.
Paramedics were called to the scene and provided CPR to the victim, but unfortunately the pedestrian died at the scene.
Police closed down the roadway to conduct an investigation and a tow truck removed the Ford with its front-end damage.
The case remains under investigation to determine fault.
