Fatal Pedestrian Accident Highway 49 and Wolf Road near Grass Valley

Man Found Dead on Highway 49

GRASS VALLEY, Calif. (March 19, 2025) — A pedestrian was found dead Tuesday night after a possible hit-and-run accident on Highway 49, just south of Wolf Road in the Grass Valley area.

Authorities were called to the scene on the southbound side of State Route 49 around 10:09 p.m. on March 18th, according to the California Highway Patrol traffic log.

The California Highway Patrol responded to a 911 call alerting them to a man laying in the southbound lane of the roadway after a possible collision.

Paramedics were also on scene and confirmed the victim’s death, but authorities have not released any further details.
