Woman Struck, Killed on Highway 50
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. (May 30, 2023) — A fatal pedestrian accident on Highway 50 happened Tuesday morning near Howe Avenue in Sacramento County.
A woman was struck and killed around 4:35 a.m. on May 30th, just east of Howe Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A woman was reportedly walking in traffic lanes when an eastbound Toyota struck her, despite attempts to avoid hitting her, KCRA reports.
Meanwhile, the motorist stopped on the shoulder and reported the crash to authorities.
Authorities closed down the Highway 50 for several hours to investigate the pedestrian accident.
The identity and age of the woman who died will be released after family members are notified.
