One Person Killed on Highway 580
Hayward, Calif. (June 26, 2023) — A fatal pedestrian car accident happened Monday morning in Alameda County in the city of Hayward on Highway 580.
The collision occurred about 9:35 a.m. on June 26th, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
One report stated the person was walking with the highway traffic on the right hand side, when the pedestrian was hit by a red Honda, Bay City News reported. A second report stated the victim was attempting to cross the highway just east of 167th, the CHP said.
The Freeway Service Patrol was summoned along with paramedics and the fire department. They arrived and responded to help those hurt in the collision.
The driver of the red Honda after the collision pulled over and is cooperating with the investigators. In addition, the investigators are working on the case further to determine fault.
