Woman, 23, Struck and Killed on Highway 99
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Feb. 13, 2024) — A fatal Bakersfield pedestrian accident happened early Tuesday morning on the southbound Highway 99, just south of Olive Drive.
A 23-year-old woman was hit by a vehicle at around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13th, according to reports by Bakersfield Now and the California Highway Patrol.
Police responded to the scene where the woman had been struck in the No. 4 lane on the highway, the report said.
Unfortunately, the driver told authorities they were not able to avoid hitting the woman who was in the roadway.
CHP officials closed down the Nos. 3 and 4 lanes of Highway 99 to conduct an investigation into the circumstances leading up to the crash.
Finally, the identity of the woman who died was not released at this time.
