Pedestrian Struck, Killed on Freeway Near Echo Park

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Nov. 8, 2023) — A pedestrian sustained fatal injuries early Wednesday in a car accident on the southbound Hollywood 101 Freeway in the Echo Park area.

The car verses pedestrian collision occurred at around 5:40 a.m. near the Glendale Boulevard off ramp, according to ABC 7 News and the California Highway Patrol.

It’s unknown what led up to the traffic accident or why the person was on the freeway.

Paramedics responded and pronounced the person deceased on the scene.

Meanwhile, investigators are working to determine fault for the pedestrian accident on the 101 Freeway and traffic lanes reopened at around 8 a.m.

News reports stated this was the fourth pedestrian death in the past few weeks in the same area of the 101 freeway.
