Man Struck, Killed on I-10 Freeway
SAN GABRIEL, Calif. (Oct. 10, 2023) — A fatal pedestrian accident happened Monday night on the eastbound Interstate 10 Freeway near the San Gabriel Boulevard on ramp.
The deadly crash occurred at around 11:44 p.m. on Oct. 10th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a man wearing black clothing was walking in the No. 4 lane prior to the collision.
A driver reportedly struck the victim and the pedestrian sustained major injuries. The San Gabriel Fire Department responded to the scene, but the man died at the scene.
Police issued a SigAlert and ordered a hard closure of the Nos. 3 and 4 lanes of the freeway due to the crash and investigation into what happened.
The victim’s name and age were not released, pending notification of his family.
