SYLMAR, Calif. (Feb. 17, 2023) — A fatal pedestrian accident involving a semi-truck happened Friday morning on the eastbound Interstate 210 Freeway at Hubbard Street in Sylmar.
The deadly crash occurred in the No. 2 lane about 7 a.m. on Feb. 17th, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
A semi-truck struck an adult male pedestrian and then a white Dodge Ram pickup truck hit the person a second time after they were already down in traffic lanes. Other vehicles may have also struck the person’s body in the roadway, the CHP said.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced the victim dead on the scene.
It’s unknown at this time what the person was doing on the freeway.
Traffic was diverted off the freeway onto Hubbard Street due to the investigation and clean up.
Police are investigating what led to the pedestrian accident on the 210 Freeway and will determine fault for the deadly crash.
