Pedestrian Accident on I-215 Freeway
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (Sept. 8, 2023) — A fatal pedestrian accident happened Thursday night on the southbound Interstate 215 Freeway, just north of Orange Show Road.
The deadly crash occurred around 8:45 p.m. on Sept. 7th, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch report.
A driver in a white Smart Fortwo car reportedly “pulled over to make a phone call” and possibly struck a pedestrian, the report said. A small van was also towed from the scene of the crash.
The pedestrian was on the right shoulder of the freeway and face down, the report said.
Meanwhile, one motorist reportedly drove away away from the scene and had a shattered window, but contacted police and offer to return to the scene. The driver was told to remain at the 7-11 store and Shell station on Inland Center.
The San Bernardino Police Department responded and is heading up the investigation into what happened.
