EAST LOS ANGELES, Calif. (June 7, 2023) – A fatal pedestrian accident happened Wednesday morning on the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway in East Los Angeles.
The deadly crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7th near Indiana Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A driver struck and killed the unidentified man due to unknown circumstances.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner will identify the pedestrian after relatives are notified.
Meanwhile, police closed down a couple of northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway for about two hours to conduct an investigation in the fatal pedestrian accident, MyNewsLA reports. It’s unknown why the person was on the freeway at the time of the crash.
The CHP report did not mention if the motorist involved stopped or fled the scene.
