SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (May 3, 2023) — A fatal Santa Clarita pedestrian accident occurred Wednesday morning on the Interstate 5 Freeway under the Lyons Avenue overcrossing.
The deadly collision occurred in the northbound lanes of the I-5 around 4:52 a.m. on May 3rd, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
A driver in a white Ford F-150 pickup truck reportedly struck the pedestrian due to unknown circumstances in the Nos. 3 or 4 lanes. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded with paramedics to help the injured person, but
Police closed down the Calgrove on ramp to the I-5 and issued a SigAlert and the roadway remained partially blocked until around 6:21 a.m.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the Santa Clarita pedestrian accident.
