
Victim Struck, Dragged in Collision in Las Lomas
MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (Jan. 17, 2025) — A driver struck and killed a pedestrian Friday morning in a car accident on Las Lomas Drive in the Las Lomas area of Monterey County.
The deadly crash occurred near the intersection with Hall Road at 5:30 a.m. on Jan. 17th, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
CHP officials received the 911 call reporting the collision. The respondent stated his father heard a person get hit and ran out to see what happened. He found a person unconscious in the roadway. The man tried to stop oncoming traffic, but another vehicle ran over the person and dragged him.
The victim was on the side of the road when emergency crews arrived.
Unfortunately, the male pedestrian died at the scene.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the crash.
