Orangevale Man Killed in Crash on Main Avenue

ORANGEVALE, Calif. (Oct. 2, 2023) — A fatal Orangevale pedestrian accident happened Saturday night on Main Avenue between Greenback Lane and Main Street.

A driver struck the man in his 40s after he reportedly stepped into the path of the motorist around 7:20 p.m. on Sept. 30th.

The California Highway Patrol’s East Sacramento office reported the victim was walking outside of a crosswalk down Main Avenue when a driver hit him at roughly 25 mph.

The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the driver, an Orangevale man in his 60s, pulled over and stopped after the collision.

Police determined the driver was not under the influence of drugs and or alcohol.

The CHP is heading up an investigation into liability for the pedestrian accident.
