Woman, 23, Killed in Crash on Nashua Road
SALINAS, Calif. (August 22, 2024) — A 23-year-old pedestrian died in a car accident early Thursday morning August 22nd on Nashua Road in Salinas.
A passenger in a tan GMC Suburban called 911 about 6:14 a.m. to report the SUV hit a person in front of 306 Nashua Road, according to the California Highway Patrol report.
The westbound Chevrolet Suburban SUV hit the woman as she was crossing the roadway.
The driver pulled over on the right shoulder, roughly a mile southeast of Monte Road to call for help.
Paramedics and police responded to the scene where they confirmed the death of the young Gilroy woman.
It happened in a remote agricultural area in front of a yard with parked tractors.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the pedestrian accident on Nashua Road in Salinas.
