SOUTH LOS ANGELES, Calif. (August 26, 2026) — A fatal pedestrian accident occurred in the West Rancho Dominguez area early Wednesday morning on Avalon Boulevard at East 136th Street.
The incident was reported at approximately 4:11 a.m. on August 26th when a male pedestrian was discovered down in the roadway, with two vehicles stopped nearby, according to the South Los Angeles Police Department. The collision involved a vehicle-versus-pedestrian scenario, and it remains unclear how the accident occurred.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the report at 4:22 a.m. However, despite their efforts, the male pedestrian succumbed to his injuries. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office was notified, and the investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement officials are asking any witnesses to come forward to help piece together the events leading to this tragic incident.
