Deadly Crash at Bonita Road Near Willow Street

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Oct. 21, 2024) — A fatal pedestrian accident on Bonita Road near Willow Street happened Friday night in Bonita, San Diego County.

A driver in a Chrysler Town and Country struck the pedestrian around 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 18th, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

A victim was reportedly walking along the road when the 66-year-old man driving the minivan struck him on Bonita Road, just west of Willow Street, according to the California Highway Patrol report.

The unidentified pedestrian suffered severe injuries and died before he could be transported to a hospital, the report said. The San Diego Medical Examiner has not released his name.

Meanwhile, the driver of the minivan stopped and cooperated with investigators.

The case remains under investigation to determine liability.
