Woman Struck, Killed Near Fresno Intersection
FRESNO, Calif. (Jan. 29, 2024) – A fatal pedestrian accident happened Saturday night on Fresno Street near Cambridge Avenue in Fresno.
A driver struck a woman in the roadway at around 6 p.m. on Jan. 27th, according according to the Fresno Police Department.
Investigators reported a driver in a car was heading southbound on Fresno Street and traveling towards Cambridge Avenue, Your Central Valley News reports. The motorist reportedly struck a homeless woman who was attempting to cross the street outside of a marked crosswalk, police said.
Paramedics responded, but the woman died at the scene. She will be identified after relatives are informed of the fatality crash.
Meanwhile, police investigating the pedestrian accident on Fresno Street determined the driver was allegedly under the influence of marijuana.
Investigators do not believe the motorist was at fault for the collision, but the person was cited for DUI charges.
