Pedestrian Hit and Killed by Vehicle on Highway 1 Monday
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Ca (August 9, 2019) – A deadly pedestrian accident took place Monday, August 5, on Highway 1, the Mercury News reported.
Officials said a 2012 Toyota Prius attempted to mere onto the southbound highway near the vista point south of Mar Monte Avenue when he struck the pedestrian.
Police received calls regarding an incident between a pedestrian and a vehicle on SR-1 near La Selva Beach around 9:35 p.m.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Santa Cruz County, August 5
First responders found the victim, a 28-year-old man from Salinas, on the ground and unresponsive. Paramedics performed CPR and tried to revive the man but he passed away a few moments later.
Primary reports briefly identified the Toyota driver as a 40-year-old man from Gilroy.
Authorities continue to the precise circumstances that led to the deadly accident.
