SOUTH SACRAMENTO, Calif. (June 23, 2023) — A fatal pedestrian accident on Highway 99 happened Friday near Cosumnes River Boulevard in South Sacramento.
The collision occurred around 8:09 a.m. on June 23rd when a driver in a white and blue moving truck struck the victim on southbound Highway 99, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a BMW, a Dodge and the moving truck were involved in a collision in the middle lanes. It appears that only the truck collided with the pedestrian.
Several traffic lanes were blocked including the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes heading to police issuing a SigAlert.
The driver of the truck stopped and is cooperating with authorities.
The cause of the Highway 99 pedestrian accident in Sacramento, as well as liability, are yet to be determined.
