Pedestrian Struck and Killed on I-8 Freeway
LA MESA, Calif. (Oct. 24, 2023) — A fatal pedestrian accident happened Tuesday morning on the Intestate 8 Freeway, just west of Baltimore Drive in La Mesa.
The deadly crash occurred at around 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 24th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a driver in a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck fatally struck the unidentified pedestrian on the Interstate 8 Freeway near Lake Murray, according to the Times of San Diego.
The driver was traveling on the eastbound side of the freeway prior to hitting the man who is believed to be a transient.
A witness reported seeing the man run into the freeway and stand there just before being hit.
Investigators are working on the case.
