Woman Struck by Two Vehicles in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Oct. 29, 2024) — A woman is dead after a pedestrian accident Sunday morning on Panama Lane in Bakersfield.
The fatal crash occurred at around 5:30 a.m. on Oct. 27th, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
A westbound pickup truck struck the woman in the 18000 block of Panama Lane while she was walking outside of a crosswalk. The driver stopped to call 911 for help, but then a second vehicle ran over the woman in the roadway. That motorist fled the scene without stopping.
Paramedics responded and found the woman suffering from major injuries, but she died shortly after at the scene.
The identity of the woman who died was not released, pending notification of her family.
