Dump Truck Hits Man Crossing Parnassus Avenue in Fatal Collision
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (Oct. 22, 2024) — A driver in a dump truck struck and killed a pedestrian in an accident on Parnassus Avenue in San Francisco.
The deadly collision occurred at 8:44 a.m. on Oct. 22nd at the intersection with Stanyan Street in the Cole Valley/Parnassus Heights neighborhood.
CBS News reported that police responded and found a man down in the crosswalk suffering from major injuries, but despite efforts to save his life he died on scene.
The driver pulled over the large white truck and stopped a few yards away after the crash. The motorist reportedly cooperated with authorities.
Police closed down Parnassus Avenue to conduct an investigation into the collision.
