Deadly Hit-and-run in Pico-Union Area of Los Angeles
PICO-UNION, LOS ANGELES, Calif. (May 6, 2022) — A fatal pedestrian accident happened Thursday night near Pico Boulevard and Vermont Avenue in the Pico-Union area of Los Angeles.
The collision occurred about 10 p.m. on May 5th, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
A driver in a white compact car reportedly struck a pedestrian and fled the scene. Witnesses say the motorist drive off southbound on Vermont Avenue.
Meanwhile, a Metro bus may have struck the person after the initial collision, but stopped and is cooperating with authorities.
It was the bus driver who called 911 to report the crash to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The LAPD responded to the scene of the pedestrian accident on Pico Boulevard. They are conducting an investigation into what happened.
They closed down the area temporarily, but it reopened after a few hours. Police are searching for the suspect, but there are no further details.
