Pedestrian Struck, Killed on Riverside Freeway
RIVERSIDE, Calif. (Dec. 19, 2024) — A pedestrian was struck and killed Wednesday night in a traffic accident on the Riverside (91) Freeway in Riverside.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported the collision at 9:42 p.m. on Dec. 18th in the westbound lanes of the freeway near Madison Street.
A black Honda was stalled in the middle lanes of the freeway and a gray sedan was stopped on the shoulder, according to The Patch.
CHP officials stated that three people were standing outside the Honda when they were hit by another vehicle.
Unfortunately, one pedestrian suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others had injuries and were treated by arriving paramedics.
The CHP closed down the Madison Street exit and investigated the circumstances.
