Man Struck, Killed in Hit-and-Run in MacArthur Park Area
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Jan. 24, 2023) – A homeless man was struck and killed Monday night in a pedestrian accident at Sixth Street and South Bonnie Brae Street in Los Angeles.
The deadly crash occurred about 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 23rd in the Westlake area near MacArthur Park, according to the Los Angeles Police Department and CBS Los Angeles.
UPDATED: Homeless man killed in hit-and-run on Sixth Street is identified
The LAPD reported the 32-year-old man stepped off the curb at an unmarked crosswalk on Sixth Street when a westbound driver in a blue pickup with a gated bed struck him and then fled the scene.
The victim suffered major injuries and died at the scene.
The Los Angeles Police Department reports they are searching for the motorist.
The investigation into the fatal pedestrian accident on Sixth Street is ongoing.
