Woman Struck, Killed by Motorhome on SR-76 Near Oceanside Airport
OCEANSIDE, Calif. (May 16, 2022) — A fatal pedestrian accident happened on state Route 76 early Saturday morning near the Oceanside Municipal Airport.
The deadly pedestrian accident occurred about 4:30 a.m. on May 14th, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.
A driver in a motorhome struck and killed the 56-year-old woman as she crossed state Route Highway 76 at Benet Road. She reportedly crossed against a red traffic light in the westbound lanes.
Responded police officers began CPR on the victim upon their arrival. Sadly, she died at the scene, but her name was not released.
Authorities do not suspect alcohol or speed were factors in the crash.
The married couple in the motorhome were traveling to the beach to go camping prior to the crash. They stopped the vehicle and immediately contacted authorities.
The cause of the crash and liability remain under investigation.
