
Pedestrian Struck, Killed on Stockdale Highway
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Jan. 11, 2024) — A 79-year-old woman died Wednesday in a pedestrian accident involving a hit-and-run driver at Stockdale Highway and Real Road in Bakersfield.
The elderly woman was found with major injuries in the 3800 block of Stockdale Highway. Unfortunately, she later died at the scene of the crash, KGET reports. The Kern County Sheriff Coroner has not released the victim’s name, pending notification of her family members.
Meanwhile, the driver who hit the woman, fled the scene without stopping to help her or call police. At this time, there is no description of the suspect or vehicle.
Finally, the Bakersfield Police Department is investigating the collision and asking witnesses or anyone with information to call them at 661-327-7111.
