LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Dec. 9, 2022) — A fatal pedestrian accident happened early Friday on the Third Street off ramp from the Harbor 110 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles.
The deadly crash occurred about 12:51 a.m. on Dec. 9th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officers responded to the Third Street off ramp from of the northbound side of the freeway where they located the pedestrian.
Apparently, the man had initially been riding a bicycle on the off ramp, police said. He then got off the bicycle and a vehicle struck him, the CHP said.
Meanwhile, the driver involved stopped and called 911 for help.
Paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to help the injured man, but sadly he was pronounced dead at the scene. The report did not release the victim’s age or identity, pending notification of next of kin.
Finally, police issued a SigAlert and closed down the off ramp to conduct an investigation.
