
Driver Arrested After Fatal Collision
LOS ANGELES COUNTY, Calif. (August 11, 2023) — A 52-year-old pedestrian was killed in a traffic accident on Vermont Avenue and Knox Street in the Harbor Gateway area of Los Angeles.
The collision occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 10th, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Authorities responded to the scene and learned that a driver in a beige BMW SUV was heading north on Vermont Avenue and hit the victim crossing the roadway in a northbound direction. The unidentified man died at the scene.
Meanwhile, it’s unknown if the driver stopped or fled the scene, but police arrested the 42-year-old driver on unknown charges.
The LAPD’s South Traffic Division is heading up the investigation into the pedestrian accident on Vermont Avenue.
