
Police Looking for Suspect in Fatal Hit-and-run Crash
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (May 5, 2023) — A fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident happened late Thursday night at Western Avenue and 79th Street in South Los Angeles.
The collision occurred around about 11:50 p.m. on Thursday, May 4th, according to KTLA 5 News.
The 72-year-old man was struck by a vehicle, possibly a motorcycle, due to unknown circumstances. Paramedics responded and rushed him to a hospital where he later died from his injuries, according to the Los Angeles Police Department report.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner has not released his name at this time.
There is a standing reward of up to $50,000 offered by the city of Los Angeles for tips that help authorities locate a suspect in a fatal hit and run. Please contact the LAPD South Traffic Division at 323-421-2500, or 877-LAPD-247.
Investigators will continue to work on finding the suspect involved in the fatal pedestrian accident.
