Fatal Piru Bicycle Collision on Highway 126
PIRU, Calif. (Oct. 27, 2020) — A fatal Piru bicycle accident was reported Tuesday on Highway 126 at Main Street.
The fatal crash was reported at 5:45 a.m. at the Piru intersection, just east of Fillmore, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The CHP reported the bicycle rider died at the scene of the crash. Meanwhile, the driver in a white sedan who struck the victim stopped and cooperated with the police investigation. However, the circumstances that led to the crash were not disclosed in the CHP report.

Meanwhile, the Ventura County Fire Department responded to the crash scene and pronounced the victim dead upon their arrival. Later, the victim’s name will be released by the coroner after the family is notified.
Meanwhile, the roadway was being cleared and police were investigating the fatality. Caltrans made a hard closure of the roadway to allow for the investigation.
