3 Killed, 2 Injured in Crash on Highway 65
PLACER COUNTY, Calif. (August 1, 2023) — Three people died in a Placer County crash Sunday night on State Route 65 and two people including Karla Diaz, 29, were injured.
The multi-vehicle collision occurred around 8:45 p.m. on July 30th, according to the California Highway Patrol Auburn station.
3-Vehicle Crash on State Route 65
A southbound 2007 Toyota Camry collided with two northbound vehicles, a 2022 Kia Sorento and a 2021 Subaru Forester, Fox 40 News said.
A 53-year-old Rocklin woman driving the Toyota allegedly crossed the double yellow lines into the path of the oncoming Kia Sorento and the Subaru Forester.
The driver of the Toyota and the driver and passenger from the Subaru all died.
The Subaru driver was a 66-year-old Marysville woman and her passenger was a 62-year-old Marysville man died at Sutter Roseville Medical Center, the report said, Meanwhile, a 24-year-old Marysville man from the Subaru was airlifted to Mercy San Juan Hospital.
Karla Diaz, 29, of Yuba City, who was driving the Kia, suffered injuries and was taken to Sutter Roseville Medical Center.
The cause of the deadly crash on State Route 65 remains under investigation.
