Woman Killed in Amtrak Train Pedestrian Accident
PLANADA, Calif. (June 1, 2022) — An Amtrak train struck and killed a pedestrian Wednesday in an accident at Childs Avenue and Santa Fe Avenue.
The deadly crash occurred about 8:57 a.m. on June 1st at the Planada intersection, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the train struck a woman due to unknown circumstances. She suffered major injuries and died at the crash scene.
The Planada train accident happened at the railroad crossing on East Childs Avenue near Santa Fe Avenue. Authorities closed it for an unknown duration.
Meanwhile, the Railroad Authority is the agency that will be investigating the incident.
Witnesses may contact authorities to help them determine fault for the collision.
