13-Year-Old Boy Killed in Pocket Bike Crash

LANCASTER, Calif. (March 18, 2025) – A 13-year-old boy died Sunday in a crash with a Subaru while he was riding a pocket bike on Lancaster Boulevard.

The Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner identified the victim as Darrin Jackson.

An eastbound Subaru struck the boy and knocked him off the motorcycle on Lancaster Boulevard at around 1:45 p.m. on March 16th, according to the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station.

The teenager was traveling southbound on 32nd Street West on the small “pocket” sized bike that is not designed to be used on roads. The juvenile reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with the Subaru, police said.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is heading up the investigation.

Witnesses should call the traffic investigators at the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station at 661-948-8466.
