Deadly Car Accident Involving Semi-Truck on State Route 190
PORTERVILLE, Calif. (July 15, 2024) — A fatal Porterville crash happened Monday on Highway 190, just west of Road 208 in Tulare County.
The multi-vehicle collision occurred at around 5:25 a.m. on July 15th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a black GMC SUV, a grey sedan and a semi-truck were involved, but it’s unknown what led up to the accident.
The vehicles were blocking both the east and west lanes of the roadway.
The Tulare County Fire Department responded to help those injured, but unfortunately at least one person died following the collision.
One of the vehicles caught on fire and one person was trapped in the vehicle.
There was roughly 300 to 500 feet of dry concrete in both lanes after the crash, leading to a hard closure of the roadway.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the fatal Porterville crash on Highway 190.
