Shawn Majewski Struck, Killed on State Route 273 in Redding
REDDING, Calif. (Sept. 8, 2023) – Shawn Majewski died in a Redding pedestrian accident at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7th on Highway 273 at Girvan Road.
A driver struck and killed a man identified by his family as Shawn Majewski early Sept. 8th, according to a report around 7:30 a.m. on the Redding Police Department’s Facebook page.
The collision occurred in the northbound lanes between the pedestrian and a vehicle.
A news report stated a woman driving southbound struck attempted to avoid hitting the man already in the roadway, but was unable to and ran over him. Police located the man’s body under her vehicle in the road.
Authorities closed down the northbound No. 1 and turn lanes of Highway 273 to Westside Road as well as the southbound No. 1 lane due to the investigation, according to the Redding Police Department.
Investigators with the Redding Police Department are working on the case to determine fault for the Redding pedestrian accident on Highway 274.
The family of the victim has created a GoFundMe page to cover his funeral expenses.
