Driver Killed in Suspected DUI Crash
REDONDO BEACH, Calif. (Sept. 20, 2023) – A fatal Redondo Beach crash happened Monday night at Rindge Lane and Artesia Boulevard.
One motorist died in the crash and the other faces alleged DUI charges, according to the Redondo Beach Police Department.
The traffic accident occurred around 6:40 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 18th between the two motorists, according to the Daily Breeze.
The Redondo Beach Police Department sent officers to the scene to investigate the fatal crash.
A woman driving one of the vehicles died at the scene and the second driver was transported to a hospital with undisclosed injuries. The surviving motorist was suspected of being impaired, police said.
Meanwhile, the identity of the woman who died was not released by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
The collision remains under investigation by the Redondo Beach Police Traffic Unit. The suspected DUI driver may also face charges of felony vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
