Man Killed in Richmond Pedestrian Accident
RICHMOND, Calif. (June 30, 2021) — A fatal Richmond pedestrian accident happened Wednesday morning at the Regatta Boulevard off ramp from the Interstate 580 Freeway.
The collision happened about 7:27 a.m. on June 30th at the freeway and Regatta Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A man went down on the right side of the roadway near the off ramp, police said. Paramedics with the Richmond Fire Department responded and pronounced the injured man dead at the scene of the collision.
Richmond Fatal Crash Investigation
Meanwhile, police closed down the off ramp from the I-580 Freeway and alerted the Contra Costa County Coroner. The CHP report did not mention if the involved driver remained on scene or fled. Also, the police report did not identify the victim who died in the collision.
Additionally, authorities issued a SigAlert about 7:46 a.m. due to the closure of the off ramp.
