Man, 45, Killed in Crash on I-215 Freeway in Riverside
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. (May 19, 2022) — A fiery, multi-vehicle fatal Riverside crash happened Thursday morning on the northbound Interstate 215 Freeway, just north of Columbia Avenue.
Someone called 911 to report the deadly crash at 4:54 a.m. on May 19th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a silver Dodge Neon and a sweeper truck reportedly collided due to unknown circumstances. Subsequently, other vehicles may have rear-ended these two vehicles. The car became fully engulfed in flames following the impact. The driver remained trapped in the vehicle. Riverside firefighters responded to extricate the motorist from the vehicle.
A 45-year-old Norco man died in the crash and it’s unknown if there are also injuries to others.
Meanwhile, investigators called for a blood technician to respond and determine if drugs and or alcohol were factors. Two vehicles were towed for evidence.
The investigation into the deadly crash is ongoing.
