Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Riverside (91) Freeway
RIVERSIDE, Calif. (July 7, 2022) — A motorcycle rider died in a collision Thursday morning on the eastbound Riverside 91 Freeway, just west of Magnolia Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol reported on its dispatch the crash occurred about 4:48 a.m. on July 7th between the bike and a dark-colored sedan. The motorist told authorities they hit something and it went down on the right side.
It turns out the driver reportedly collided with a person riding a Yamaha V-Star in the HOV lane, according to MyNewsLA. The Riverside County Sheriff Coroner responded to the scene after authorities pronounced the person dead on the scene.
Police closed down the HOV and Nos. 1 and 2 lanes due to the crash.
An investigation is underway to determine fault for the collision.
