GUSTINE, California (December 9, 2016) – A fatal traffic collision took place on Highway 152 Friday afternoon, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch team.
CHP received a call about possibly three vehicles which collided around 5:15 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Highway 152. The accident occurred just east of Romero Visitor Center.
As per the report log, at least one of the cars rolled over following the crash. A vehicle lost two tires upon impact while the other lost one.
Fire department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and confirmed that one person was killed in the wreck. The name of the deceased has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the dispatch described the cars involved as possible small Toyota truck and a Dodge pickup.
Authorities will continue to investigate the cause of the incident.
