1 Dead, 3 Injured in Rollover Crash on Ballard Canyon Road
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. (Sept. 13, 2022) — One person is dead, three injured Monday night in a rollover crash on Ballard Canyon Road in the Santa Ynez Valley.
The solo-vehicle crash occurred Monday night in the area near Roble Blanco Road, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to the scene about 10:20 p.m. and located all of the occupants of the BMW sedan trapped in the wreckage.
The vehicle was traveling north on Ballard Canyon Road when it allegedly failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, according to Noozhawk. The vehicle landed about 20 feet down an embankment. The BMW wound up on its roof, under a tree, police said.
They located one person with major injuries and transported the person to Santa Ynez Cottage Hospital. Later, the individual died before they could be transferred to a trauma center.
Also, there are two others who suffered moderate injuries. Paramedics transported them to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria. Meanwhile, the fourth person had minor injuries, but they were not taken to a hospital.
The CHP is heading up the investigation into the collision.
