1 Killed, 5 Injured in Solo Collision Near Palm Springs
PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (June 10, 2024) — One person is dead and several others were injured in a fatal crash Sunday night on Highway 111, just north of Overture Drive in the Palm Springs area.
The solo-vehicle collision occurred at around 8:35 p.m. on June 9th, Windy Point area of Palm Springs, according to the California Highway Patrol and Yahoo News.
The Ford Explorer SUV was headed north on Highway 111 when for unknown reasons it overturned multiple times and landed on its roof near the intersection.
A Los Angeles man in his 60s died at the scene and was trapped in the vehicle and five others from the vehicle survived and were transported by ambulances to Desert Regional Medical Center with minor to moderate injuries.
Finally, the CHP is heading up the investigation into the fatal crash on Highway 111.
