Police Search for Hit-and-run Driver after Deadly Pedestrian Crash
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Feb. 5, 2019) — A man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver early Tuesday morning on Florin Road, just east of 55th Street and Highway 99, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at 12:48 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5th in South Sacramento County. Police are searching for a silver sedan that failed to stop after the collision.
Witnesses found the man down in the eastbound slow lane of the roadway where he was bleeding from the head, the report said. They also told police they saw the victim lying in the roadway prior to the collision. It’s unknown at this time whether or not the man had already been struck by a vehicle or if he was sleeping or had suffered a medical emergency.
