Deadly Rollover Collision on Alisal Road
SALINAS, Calif. (May 22, 2024) — A fatal hit-and-run crash happened early Wednesday morning in Salinas at Alisal Road and Hartnell Road.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 6:17 a.m. on May 22nd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the driver of gray Nissan Altima overturned in a collision with a white GMC Yukon. The pickup truck went off the roadway during the collision.
The southbound Nissan was making a left-hand turn from Alisal Road when the southbound GMC attempted to pass the car and collided with the Nissan.
Paramedics responded and confirmed the death of a 67-year-old Salinas woman from the Nissan at the scene. The 68-year-old man driving the Nissan sustained a major head injury and was hospitalized.
Meanwhile, the driver from the GMC fled the scene and has not been found.
Tow trucks removed the vehicles for evidence and investigators are working to determine fault for the Salinas crash on Alisal Road.
