Man, 19, Riding Motorcycle Killed in Car Accident
SALINAS, Calif. (Oct. 19, 2023)- A 19-year-old man riding a motorcycle died when his bike and an SUV were involved in a fatal Salinas accident on West Market Street Wednesday night.
Salinas police reported the two-vehicle crash occurred at around 7:54 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18th, according to KION TV.
The motorcyclist was reportedly traveling eastbound on West Market Street and a brown SUV was heading westbound on the same street. The SUV made a left-hand turn onto Clark Street into the path of the motorcycle rider and the two vehicles collided near the Salinas City BBQ restaurant.
Unfortunately, the young man suffered major injuries and died at the scene.
The driver of the SUV stopped and cooperated with authorities and the investigation.
Investigators are working on the case, but initial findings do not confirm that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the fatal Salinas motorcycle accident.
Finally, the name of the victim was not released pending notification of his relatives.
