Fatal San Diego Car Accident Interstate 5 Freeway, Dairy Mart Road
One Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5 Freeway
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Feb. 12, 2025) — One person is dead and others were injured Tuesday night in a multi-vehicle crash on the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway in San Diego.
The fiery crash occurred in the middle lanes after a vehicle stalled and was hit from behind around 11:34 p.m. on Feb. 11th, at Dairy Mart Road, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officers responded to the chain-reaction collision involving a black SUV and another vehicle. Upon their arrival, one vehicle was on fire and four people had left the scene.
Four or five vehicles became involved following the initial crash. Paramedics responded and confirmed one person dead at the scene.
The San Diego Police Department was also on scene and searching for the subjects who fled after the collision.
Police issued a SigAlert for roughly two hours due to the crash and investigation.
