Fatal San Diego Crash at Genesee Ave Off Ramp at SR-52 Mt. Soledad Freeway
SAN DIEGO, California (June 19, 2017) — A vehicle fell 30 feet below the 52 Freeway at the Genesee Avenue off ramp in a fatal crash, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The collision took place about 10:02 a.m. this morning. A driver’s vehicle fell down into the canyon from the off ramp and landed on its roof. An ambulance was sent to the scene and police closed down the Genese off ramp for at least two yours to investigate. A SigAlert was issued by the CHP.
The San Diego Medical Examiner was called to the scene and family members of the victim were also there in an effort to find out what happened.
The CHP report does not state how many people were in the vehicle or any other details about what led to the crash, but an investigation is underway.
