Deadly, 3-Vehicle Crash Interstate 15 Freeway in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, California (Sept. 23, 2021) – A fatal San Diego crash happened early Thursday on the Interstate 15 Freeway near Carmel Mountain Road.
Three vehicles collided due to unknown reasons about 2 a.m. on Sept. 23rd near State Route 56, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers involved include a black Ford F-150 pickup truck, a Kia Optima and a third vehicle, police said.
Multi-Vehicle Car Accident
Authorities closed down four of the five lanes on the freeway due to the crash. Also, the medical examiner was called about 3:38 a.m. to the crash scene at Interstate 15 near Carmel Mountain Road. The age, gender and identity of the person or people who died will be released after family members are notified.
CHP officials are heading up an investigation into the crash to determine fault.
