Pedestrian Struck, Killed on Northbound I-805 Freeway
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Nov. 9, 2022) — A pedestrian died in a car accident Wednesday morning on the Interstate 805 Freeway at the Interstate 8 Freeway in San Diego.
The collision occurred in the northbound lanes about 4:36 a.m. on Nov. 9th, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
Someone called 911 to report a man wearing a towel on his head running across the freeway towards the center divider. Minutes later, a driver in a black Chrysler 300 sedan called 911 to report hitting something on the freeway that shattered her windshield.
Paramedics and police responded and located the pedestrian suffering from fatal injuries.
Meanwhile, a tow truck removed a damaged vehicle from the freeway.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
